Because financial education is a central part of who we are, Northwest Georgia Credit Union wants to assist parents in teaching their children principles of financial responsibility. The purpose of the Treasure Hunters Kid's Club is to teach all mateys the importance of saving their treasure! Membership in the Treasure Hunters Kid's Club only requires that your child is a member of NWGACU by opening their own account. Children under age 18 are required to have an adult over age 21 on the account; children do not have to be present for parents to open the account. Please be prepared to provide your child's social security number when you come by.

All members of the Treasure Hunters Kid's Club receive:

  • A treasure chest bank to collect their treasure
  • A Treasure Hunters Kid's Club membership card
  • A treasure map to visually encourage them to save - each deposit of at least $5.00 earns a mark on the map. After 10 deposits, X marks the spot, and the matey can select a prize from a secret treasure chest. New treasure maps are available once the old one is filled.
  • A savings passbook to track their loot
