Northwest Georgia Credit Union Announces Scholarship Opportunities

ROME, GEORGIA, January 30, 2008—For graduating high school seniors, the search has begun for scholarships that will lend some financial help for the upcoming Fall Semester.  Northwest Georgia Credit Union will offer two scholarship opportunities for qualified members.

The Tom Nunn Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of Mr. Tom Nunn, a late Director of Northwest Georgia Credit Union. Northwest Georgia Credit Union will present the $1,000 scholarship to the student who proves a commitment to excellence in academics, service, and community involvement.  The Northwest Georgia Credit Union Progressive Leadership Scholarship will be given for the second time to a student who demonstrates exceptional leadership skills. The scholarship was started to commemorate the entrepreneurial spirit, and honor a student who is passionate about their cause and makes it happen. The deadline to turn in applications for both of these scholarships is April 11, 2008, and the two recipients will be announced on April 25, 2008.

Northwest Georgia Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial institution committed to furthering the cause of education. The credit union serves educators from Floyd County Schools, Rome City Schools, the four area colleges, as well as the local private schools.
