You may notice a few changes in the near future to Online Banking on the NWGACU website. Don’t worry, the great tools you use to check and maintain your credit union accounts will stay the same. On March 24, 2008 you will notice an updated look that will help reduce the chances of identity theft as well as make the site a little more user friendly. Here are the four big changes:
- Log in procedure. Currently, you access NWGACU Online Banking with your account number and a 4-digit access code. Under the new security system, you will be prompted to create a username, which will replace your account number as your log in identification. This means that after your username has been created, you will then enter the username and your unchanging 4-digit access code to log in to Online Banking.
- Identity verification. At some point, you will be prompted to answer a few challenge questions, such as “In what city were you born?”. These answers will be stored. Later, if we detect any uncharacteristic or unusual activity involving your account, you may be asked to verify your identity by answering one or more challenge questions before continuing.
- Printing feature. When viewing your account information, you will have the ability to convert it to a printer-friendly page so you may have a cleaner, more legible hard copy.
- The overall look. The site is receiving a facelift, which means it will not only be nicer to look at, it will also be even simpler to navigate.
These added features mean that you will be able to manage your account online with more confidence than ever before. If you are not an NWGACU Online Banking user, consider this: it’s completely free, it’s safe, and it gives you the convenience of viewing current account details, transferring money, requesting withdrawals, and more. To enroll in Online Banking, stop by one of our offices and ask to see a Financial Services Officer or call 706.291.9290 or 706.802.0030.
