Northwest Georgia Credit Union proudly offers two $1,000 scholarships annually for members who are graduating high school seniors that will be attending college or technical school in the fall of the next academic year. We make these applications available online and in our branches on February 1 of each year. Scholarship deadlines are in April, and the winner is announced no later than early May. Scholarship decisions are made by the Scholarship Selection Committee. Students are encouraged to apply for both!

Progressive Leader Scholarship
This scholarship is in honor of the credit union movement, which was founded by innovative leaders who strongly believed that the banking industry was not serving people as it should. This spurred an international grassroots movement started by a handful of forward-thinking people who wanted a solution. The result? Credit unions: owned by the people, less costly, overseen by a democratically elected volunteer Board of Directors. This scholarship honors the entrepreneurial, progressive student leader who believes in her or her own cause and does something about it.
Our 2013 Progressive Leader recipient was Bailey Brock of Darlington.
